Founding Partner

Berceste Elif Duranay, the founding partner of Duranay, specialises in international and complex corporate transactions and dispute resolution. Based on its extensive sectoral knowledge, she represents leading energy, mining, petrochemical, technology and game companies.

In her early career, she worked for domestic and international law firms providing comprehensive legal services to large-scale companies. Later, she served as an in-house legal counsel at one of Turkey’s largest holding companies, which includes three public companies, mainly in the oil (upstream) and gold mining sectors.

Having gained experience in resolving many large-scale disputes both in courts and through arbitration during her career, Berceste Elif Duranay has specialized in the recognition and enforcement of foreign court and arbitral awards decisions and interim measures. Duranay, who has represented her clients operating in the energy, mining, construction, infrastructure, and technology sectors in the resolution of their disputes, is also experienced in local and international investigations and sanctions law.

Berceste Elif Duranay has also represented her clients in merger and acquisition transactions in many sectors, project financing processes, and matters subject to capital market regulations. Especially experienced in drawing up the strategic roadmap for cross-border transactions and effectively managing the processes, Duranay also shares her experiences with promising ventures and investors who invest in these ventures.

Specializing in the energy and mining sectors, Duranay serves as the Secretary-General at the Energy Dispute Resolution Center (EDAC) and the Chairman of the Board at the Energy Storage Association (ESA).
