On 19 September 2025, our Founding Partner Berceste Elif Duranay delivered a presentation at a panel on the theme “Arbitrating on Bosphorus: Neutral Harbour for International Disputes – Issues of Anti Suit and Anti-Arbitration Injunctions, Enforcement and Public Order” at the Çırağan Palace Kempinski, Istanbul.

Her presentation titled “Anti-Suit Injunctions: The Case of Türkiye” addressed:

• The absence of a direct legal framework for anti-suit injunctions under Turkish law
• The exceptional Uzan v. Motorola case
• Recognition and enforcement challenges for foreign ASIs in Türkiye
• The İpek v. Turkey ICSID arbitration, where proceedings were temporarily suspended

The panel was expertly moderated by Tatyana Neveeva (Managing Partner, Verba Legal) and Konstantin Christie (Partner, Peter & Kim), and featured distinguished speakers such as Anton Alifanov (Counsel, Verba Legal) and Yasemin Çetinel (Founding Partner, Cetinel Law Firm) whose comparative perspectives from different jurisdictions enriched the discussion.
