Our Founding Partner, Berceste Elif Duranay, together with Dr. Dogan Gultutan, Shantanu Majumdar KC and John Mckendrick KC, spoke on “Combating Corruption and Fraud through Freezing Orders, Investigations, Private Prosecutions etc.” at the English Law Day in Istanbul organised by the Eurasian Legal Professionals’ Forum in cooperation with the Bar Council of England and Wales.

She provided an overview of the fight against corruption and fraud in Turkiye. She also mentioned that Turkey has been used as a destination for assets in cross-border corruption and fraud cases by giving examples from wealth amnesty and real estate cases. Finally, she explained the steps to be taken following the discovery of a Turkish element in cross-border corruption and fraud cases.

The next English Law Day will take place on 12 June 2024 in Belgrade, Serbia.
